Fundamental data in your charts and backtesting

On the left a chart for IBM US Equity showing earnings per share at the bottom.

Any from the more than 10.000 fundamental fields Reuters has available can be charted in your TA software depending on your Reuters subscription.

This will make it possible to design trading systems using any of these fields and backtest the strategy.

Real time and end of day charting

For all client software real time and end of day charting is supported. Reuters does not suply fundamental data fields in real time but real time and daily fields can be mixed so these fields can be used in your real time charts.

Local database

Data is stored in a local database. This will enable you to do faster charting since data does not need to be downloaded. Especialy usefull when you want to run your trading systems on multiple symbols.

Daily error correcting

Even though Reuters has very reliable data, errors do occure and real time timestamps can be incorrect due to delayed transmission. Professional trades can have timestamps that are out of sequence but charting software, due to the way they work, wil record the data with the "real time" timestamp. This might have your trading software show incorrect charts or trading systems trading on incorrect data. On a daily interval, for wich the time can be set by the user, the local database will be refreshed with newly downloaded data. This will give the cleanest possible historical data and charts. (if desired, this feature can be disabled)

Symbol aliasing

Aliasing is designed so you can use simple names for symbols. On the right a MetaStock chart for MSFT and MSFT US EQUITY. Aliasing makes the symbol MSFT US EQUITY (right) also available under the alias MSFT (left).

With Aliasing you can also design aliases for parts of the Reuters symbols or for fundamental fields.

With Aliasing you only need to type short aliases for long symbol names and fundamental fields.

Smart Real time "autoconnect"

If you use real time charting, at startup of the BBadapter, the recently used symbols will automaticaly be connected to Reuters and the real time data will be stored into the local database. If you then request a real time chart for one of these symbols your charting will be faster because the real time data is allready stored in your local database and does not need to be downloaded from Reuters.

Some other features

Easy setup - data added to local database in real time - can work with any timeframe supported by the client software - data import / export from / to ASCII - unlimited symbols only limited by your Reuters subscription - data refresh / dowload sheduling
